OUR MISSION: Providing incentives to businesses that use secondary materials from the waste stream as feedstock for their manufacturing process

Welcome!

The Recycling Market Development Zone (RMDZ) program combines recycling with economic development to fuel new businesses, expand existing ones, create jobs, and divert waste from landfills. The Sacramento Regional RMDZ is a cooperative partnership between the State of California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB), the County of Sacramento Business Environmental Resource Center (BERC), and the cities of, Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Folsom, Galt, Isleton, and Sacramento, as well as the City of West Sacramento’s Enterprise Zone in Yolo County.

This program provides attractive loans, technical assistance, and free product marketing to businesses that use materials from a waste stream to manufacture their products and are located in a zone. In addition to loans, the CIWMB offers free product marketing through the RecycleStore.
